Plan to Join us for our Hosted Tour: April in Paris

Updated: Sep 15, 2021

Just imagine... there you are, sitting in a café on a beautiful spring morning. You order a café and a chocolate croissant and watch the world go by as you try to decide between spending a lazy afternoon strolling through the Louvre or going shopping on the Champs-Elysees. Yep! We are taking a group the Paris next April and we’d love you to join us.

April in Paris

We are absolutely thrilled to announce our first hosted trip of 2022 and what could be a better destination than France? If the thought of enjoying the beauty of France, it's history, art, fine wine, gourmet food, a little shopping in Paris, a bike ride through the French countryside, relaxing on a luxurious river cruise as UNESCO world heritage sites sail by makes your heart happy….this may be just the trip you have been looking for!

As you know, we love to travel and we think that travel is better when you bring your friends and family along. It’s just more fun to travel with a group. We keep our groups small, to about 10 couples, big enough so you can make plenty of new friends but not so big that you feel herded like cattle or get frustrated waiting for 300 people to get on the bus. We invite interesting, fun, active, friendly people-just like you.

We will all fly into The City of Lights early on April 1, 2022 and travel together to our hotel in the center of Paris. This will give us a day of sightseeing. On April 2, we will board the Amawaterways gorgeous river boat, The AmaDante, for a 7-night cruise down the Seine River. Amawaterways is a luxury brand river cruise ship that offers so many extras onboard.

During our 7-night cruise, we will enjoy our own private dinner at the Chef’s Table, take a private tour of the ship, and have a private land excursion curated just for our group.

Our cruise will be filled with all the bucket list places you want to see. While in Paris, we will visit the Latin Quarter, home of the famous Sorbonne University, stroll through the 400-year-old Luxembourg Gardens, and the Champs-Elysée, the Arc de Triomphe and the Eiffel Tower. Our ports of call will include Mantes-La-Jolie, where you can take a bike tour or visit the Gothic Notre Dame de Mantes or try some French cheese.

On day 4, you will have a choice between visiting Monet’s home and gardens (yes- THOSE gardens), enjoying a wine event at Chateau de Bizy or take a bike tour through the vineyards. On Day 5, you will have several optional tours including a visit Notre Dame and to the square where Joan of Arc was martyred. Day 6 will find us in Cudebec-en-Caux , where you will have a choice of 4 different tours to see castles and medieval villages. On Day 7, you will have a choice between spending a day in Normandy visiting the beaches where the Greatest Generation came ashore to fight for our freedom, or you can travel to a Honfleur, renowned for its picturesque harbor that was the inspiration of many impressionist painters in the day. There we conclude our cruise and together, we will journey back to Paris. Some may need to fly home at that point.

John and I will remain for another 3 days to explore more of France and you are welcome to join us if you have the time. We will journey to Fourgeres in Brittany known for its medieval fortress, visit the walled city of St. Malo, and explore the magical island monastery of Mont St. Michel that served as the artistic inspiration for the Disney movie Tangled.

Each day will include 3-4 choices of excursions from easy to active and even an alternative specifically for those who like to sleep late. Remember, all the land tours are included in the cost of your cruise. You do not pay extra for land excursions on Amawaterways.

River cruises are fabulous for several reasons. They say, “An ocean cruise takes you to a country, a river cruise takes you through a country,” and that is true. On a river cruise, the boat pulls up to the dock and you get out and walk into the town or village. River boats are small and intimate. An ocean cruise may have 3000+ passengers, a river cruise boat has 80-175.

The AmaDante carries 144 passengers. The price of your river cruise includes so many things that typically are not covered on an ocean cruise such as: alcoholic beverages with lunch and dinner, a choice of several different daily tours, bikes to ride, exercise classes (yoga on the sun deck, spinning classes, Pilates), wellness guides, lecturers and historians who give presentations to enhance our learning experience, and so much more. This particular cruise is also designated as a wine cruise- there will be a sommelier aboard ship to do wine tastings of the different regions we will sail through and teach us about wine and host a wine pairing dinner which is always a fun event.

We currently have openings for just a few more couples. If you would like more information on this fabulous “Impressions of the Seine and Paris Wine Cruise,” please call us or email us today. We would love to have you join our little group to enjoy the fabulous food, wine, art, history, music and countryside of France.

If you'd like to join us, you can call us at 817-865-3530 or email us at John@adventureawaitsworldtravel.com. But call soon - we don't have many cabins left.

Until our next great adventure....
